Science Gallery Atlanta Goes Mobile: New Partnerships Power a Bold Next Chapter

ATLANTA, GA — Science Gallery Atlanta (SGA), an initiative of Emory University’s Office of the Senior Vice President for Research, is on the move—bringing its unique blend of science, art, and public engagement into new, more mobile venues across the Emory’s campuses and throughout the community.

Following the tremendous success of Resilient Earth, which runs through April 30, 2025, SGA will transition from its Northlake Mall gallery to a more flexible model of programming. This move supports vibrant new partnerships with Emory Libraries, the Michael C. Carlos Museum, and the Center for Public Scholarship and Engagement—allowing SGA to meet audiences where they are with pop-up exhibits, campus activations, and community-based events.

“This is a new beginning,” said Alexis R. Faust, Executive Director of Science Gallery Atlanta. “Our time at Pullman Yards and Northlake Mall helped us experiment, grow, and connect. Now, thanks to new partnerships, we’re expanding our reach and reimagining what science and art engagement can look like. We’re excited to take our programming on the road—and into new spaces across Emory and Atlanta.”

Since its inception, Science Gallery Atlanta has inspired thousands through interdisciplinary exhibitions, artist residencies, and programming that connects research with real-world curiosity. As a mobile initiative, SGA will continue this work, creating opportunities for deeper engagement, broader access, and fresh collaboration.

Valeda F. Dent, Vice Provost of Libraries and Museum at Emory University, shared:
“Science Gallery Atlanta has been a key player in bringing research to the public in meaningful, creative ways. As this next chapter unfolds, I look forward to seeing its impact grow through deeper collaboration across the university’s public-facing venues.”

SGA extends heartfelt thanks to its community of artists, students, researchers, and supporters. New programming announcements are coming soon—and this new phase promises to be its most dynamic yet.
